We propose that the term Precarious Employment be used synonymously to Low Employment Quality. Instead of trying to win people over to using your terminology, we propose that we mend the two terms into one and use both. Employment Quality, a term used by many international organizations including the UN and EU spans from high to low. The low end of this spectrum is precarious employment. Operationalizing employment quality has the added benefit of making it possible to study gradients, or different levels of employment quality instead of precarious employment vs all others, a common problem we face in epidemiological studies.
